Turquenite is typically white howlite or magnesite colored to resemble turquoise; it is not natural turquoise. Its vivid blue hue and often dark veining make each piece visually distinctive. Howlite is a relatively soft, porous mineral, so keep it away from harsh chemicals and prolonged water exposure, and store it separately from harder stones to help prevent scratches. The calming qualities associated with turquenite are traditional crystal beliefs, not scientifically established effects.
