Bugleweed (Lycopus spp)

Magical Properties: Protection, used to ward off evil spirits and against witchcraft. Used in mojo bags and amulets for courage & peace. 

Medicinal Uses: sedative, for coughs(expectorant), and to stop bleeding (Carpenter's Herb) internal and external bleeding, but its primary modern use is for mild hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) by potentially reducing hormone levels. anxiety, insomnia, PMS, and to help with heavy menstrual bleeding, mastalgia.

Precautions: do not use with underactive thyroid, unsafe for pregnant women, stop two weeks prior to surgery due to blood sugar interference.
